lyrics

ENGLISH LYRICS:

BALLAD OF KNOWLEDGE
I've met women without bags, men without pockets
Only endowed with infinite smiles
Life, death, and infinite smiles.
I’ve met women who smelled of the Indies, so real as to nearly hurt,
Bare feet, hard ground and a rich God to pray to, and then a lot of love
And I’ve seen men, women and dogs boxed into hate castles
Soft gold but without a smile; spitting into a rice dish.
I’ve known homeless and jobless men surviving with hunger
and I’ve known abandoned women with a little future to feed.
I’ve met women who were the most beautiful I’ve ever seen,
they had never combed or sold themselves
and boys of maybe the lowest caste, patiently waiting for a great love.
And I’ve seen women with bags full of hate, stress and silicone
I’ve seen men with swollen pockets full of emptiness, boredom, anxiety and tension.
Then I peeked into my own pockets and I found superfluous manias to work on,
diminish, transform and improve, leaving room for smiles and love.
I’ve met people who believed in the future,
Even though they did not have one
And I’ve also known those who enjoyed the present even when it was grey, sad and depressing
I’ve met stray, sick dogs talking to me about their glorious past of drug addiction
and mutilated beggars on the path to dementia destroying everyone’s appearance
They dug into my conscience.
I had something to do with women who often smiled,
Just to have the world at their feet and a little bit of sex
I also saw some of them looking like spaceships,
Flying so high and dancing mildly, but when the time tells us that it’s passing
I saw them falling to the ground
I saw them collapsing in a deserted abyss
Seeing this sad misfortune I could not hold back,
noticing this sad crime, by laughing discreetly.
And now that I'm also starting to know a little bit about myself,
I'm gonna dig into my soul, maybe I'll find some love
I'll dig into my soul, maybe a little love is there.
