Profondo nord...
Mentre io son menestrello e scappo spesso dall'ovile
DEEP NORTH
We don't sing if we are not a little drunk, if you get lost in the forest please bring m some blueberries, there were just chestnuts, summer is already finished, even if it never started but life is this. For three months from now we will not have the sun, let's put wood in the fire and then let's make love!
Deep North, I've got some cold into my soul, but it's me who live for freedom and while outside the wind is howling the world is close inside a box, this dormancy one day will finish.
We are rigid people but full of loyalty, sometimes, not everyday, we graze the bestiality and sun here set too early, I'll take comfort eating a plate of gnocchi with pesto dreaming of the sea not our usual torrent with icy behavior and shifty soul, like women that fascinate me, like me.
Deep North...
We, border lands between glaciers and cities often hesitating between being wild and civility, Grandmother that's a witch mixing the potful is making “polenta” before the procession, while I'm minstrel and I often escape from the sheepfold, to love this land is necessary also to run away. I'll never disown my heart that here is born, to this Deep North I will be grateful forever. For three months from now we will not have the sun, let's put wood in the fire and then let's make love!
Deep North... and sun yes, will shine and our forest lots of mushrooms will give us, la la la la...
